Special correspondent:Today (November'17) is the 3rd day of EuroTier 2022 held  at Hanover Exhibition Grounds. The four-day long show started on November'15 and will end on November'18. This year's theme is "Transforming Animal Farming". The world's latest technology of animal farming is being demonstrated here. A significant number of young entrepreneurs from Bangladesh, stakeholders of the sector including Industrialist, Businessman, nutritionists, Consultants & high officials are participating, which is undoubtedly a positive aspect. Now we have to think about how to transform the farming system by introducing these technologies in the country.

Transforming animal farming systems requires increased use of technology. Not only food grains, Bangladesh is also doing well in sub-sectors like cattle, poultry, fish farming etc. But concerns remain over how sustainable it will be. Undoubtedly, research-based interventions are needed to sustain these gains. Therefore need adequate investment for that.

Developing the industry is important from both sides. It will create employment for a large number of people on the one hand, and on the other hand it will be possible to export processed food products to different countries as well as the domestic market. An effective supply chain also needs to be developed for this industry. For this, the infrastructure should be developed with the introduction of appropriate technology. Investment should be increased for that. In this case, we have to think about long-term issues because we need to increase public-private investment.

"Transforming Animal Farming". The focus is on animal welfare, animal health, sustainability, emissions, genetics, husbandry, feeding, digitalization, management, processing and direct farm sales.

The national and international livestock sector is undergoing a transformation. A range of topics are shaping the current developments - animal welfare, sustainability, biodiversity, climate change and global food security as well as production efficiency and marketing strategies.
