Poultry Peshajibi Parishad Secures Landslide Victory in BPIA Election 2025–2027

Staff Correspondent:The biennial election (2025–2027) of the Bangladesh Poultry Industries Association (BPIA) was held successfully and peacefully on Monday, 22 December, at the AGB Colony Community Center in Motijheel, Dhaka, with active participation from poultry farmers, dealers, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals from across the country. The “Poultry Peshajibi Parishad” panel achieved a landslide victory in the election. Md. Mosharaf Hossain Chowdhury, Chairman of Astha Feed Industries Ltd., was elected President with 535 votes, while Md. Safir Rahman, Director of Quality Breeders Ltd., secured the position of Secretary General with the same number of votes (535).

Voting took place continuously from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Of the total 574 votes cast, 30 were declared invalid, leaving 544 fair votes. The election was conducted under the supervision of the Election Board chaired by Prabhangsha Som Mohan, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, along with board members Md. Sarwar Salam, Senior Assistant Secretary, and Md. Sirajul Islam, Assistant Trade Advisor. Md. Abdul Malek served as Presiding Officer, assisted by Sheikh Shamsul Arefin and Abu Horaira.

Md. Asaduzzaman, CEO of Diamond Egg Ltd., was elected Vice President with 536 votes, making him the highest vote outside the Executive Member category. Md. Sayedul Hoque Khan of Khan Agro Feed Product received 507 votes in the Vice President race. Mostafa Jahan, Proprietor of Energy Technology, was elected Treasurer with 517 votes. Anjan Majumder of Bangladesh Family Poultry Development Services (508 votes) and Mohammad Alomgir Hossain of Agrani Feeds (526 votes) were elected as Joint Secretaries General. Shofiqul Islam of Agrimart was elected Publicity Secretary with 529 votes, while Gazi Nur Ahammad of Jannat Poultry Feed & Medicine Corner secured the post of Social Welfare Secretary with 525 votes.

Among the Executive Members, Shah Fahad Habib, Director of Planet Agro Ltd., received the highest number of votes overall with 540 votes, emerging as the top vote-getter in the entire election. Other elected Executive Members include Mizanur Rahman Mentu (538 votes), Mohammed Jahir Uddin (538 votes), Md. Solaman Kabir (537 votes), Khairul Bashar Sagar (536 votes), Foyez Raza Chowdhury (536 votes), Rashid Ahamad (529 votes), Md. Salauddin Munshi (524 votes), Md. Emran Hussain (522 votes), and Nabil Ahmed (512 votes).

Industry stakeholders have expressed strong optimism that the newly elected BPIA committee will provide responsible, inclusive, and forward-looking leadership, working collectively to protect the interests of poultry farmers, strengthen industry sustainability, and guide Bangladesh’s poultry sector toward long-term growth and stability.
