DSM Enzyme Seminar Held

Feed costs can be reduced by adding enzymes which increase digestibility, with the result that the birds get more nutritional value from the same amount of feed.

RONOZYME® ProAct is a protease developed to increase protein digestibility. The NSP enzyme proposal RONOZYME VAX, increase the utilization of various energy sources, while the phytase (RONOZYME® HiPhos) increase the availability of plant phosphorus – thereby reducing the need for expensive phosphorus supplementation. Used either alone or else in tailored combinations, RONOZYME® enzymes complement the action of naturally occurring digestive enzymes to boost digestibility and feed efficiency.

Dr Kostas Stamatopoulos  (Regional Technical Manager – Enzymes, ANH APAC) made insightful presentation on the topic of "OPTIMIZING DIETARY PROTEIN DIGESTIBILITY WITH FEED ENZYMES". He shared that about 20% of the feed ingredient protein fraction is not utilized by poultry and aquatic species.

RONOZYME ProAct is a DSM unique and pure mono-component protease, that maximizes protein utilization and improves nutritional value of feed. But there are more benefits to be gained from this enzyme  as below :

-Complements the protein hydrolysis done by digestive enzymes.
-Targets a broad range of feed protein sources
-Induce gut health and endogenous loses recovery
-Reduces feed costs and improves broiler profitability
-Supports profitable use of low protein diets which benefit litter quality, carcass quality, environment and animal welfare
-Can help control soybean anti-nutritional factors
 
In addition Dr. Kostas presented on the topic "PHYTATE FREE NUTRITION (PFN) & PHYTASE INTELLIGENT DOSING". He said Phytic acid is a potent anti-nutrient. Interacts with cations and basic amino-acids, reducing solubility and increasing endogenous loss. Phytate Free Nutrition concept is moving beyond phosphorus release, aiming the complete degradation of dietary phytic acid and its anti-nutritional effects. Dietary phytate will determine both matrix value and dosing selection in the Phytase Intelligent Dosing DSM concept.

Dr. David Zhu (Regional Technical Manager Enzymes ANH Asia Pacific) during his presentation shared that using Ronozyme® VAX can improve the starch digestibility, as the endogenous amylase is not sufficient for fast growing broilers. Xylanase in Ronozyme VAX can break down both soluble and insoluble arabinoxylan effectively. Ronozyme VAX contains multiple enzyme activities which work collectively to breakdown the plant cell wall to avoid its cage effect. It is well proven than using Ronozyme®  VAX in poultry diets will benefit feed-mill, farm and environment.
 
Mr. Rafiqul Hoque (CEO, PCDS) Poultry Consultant and Development Services (PCDS) addressed the participants & shared his thoughts on usefulness of this seminar.
