Agrilife24.com:Leading animal health and nutrition company Huvepharma successfully hosted HUVETECH Meet 2026 at the Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden on Wednesday (12 August) bringing together industry leaders, livestock experts, and dairy professionals to discuss the future of Bangladesh’s dairy sector and innovative solutions for animal health and productivity.
The event featured keynote presentations from regional and international experts, highlighting the opportunities and challenges facing Bangladesh’s rapidly expanding livestock industry. Discussions focused on dairy feed potential, sustainable livestock production, animal health management, and advanced nutritional solutions aimed at improving farm profitability.
Industry leaders at the event emphasized that the nation’s reliance on informal supply chains and sub-standard nutrition had been compromising milk quality and farm profitability. Local farmers, they noted, continued to struggle with the high cost of traditional feed inputs, which suppressed daily milk yields per cow and kept production costs above international benchmarks.
Addressing these challenges, Mr. Akmal Reyaz, Business Head-Dairy & Aqua, Huvepharma SEA, delivered a keynote presentation titled “Bangladesh Dairy Feed Potential & Future Prospects.” He highlighted that transforming raw agricultural byproducts into high-efficiency feed through advanced processing technologies could help protect local farmers from volatile import costs while improving productivity.
To accelerate the transition of the dairy sector from a subsistence-based activity to a highly commercialized and competitive industry, participants outlined key priorities centered on nutritional optimization, global-standard biosecurity practices, and stronger public-private collaboration.
Mr. Reyaz also presented practical strategies for improving animal health and productivity through Huvepharma’s dairy solutions. He explained that targeted microflora managers and specialized feed enzymes could significantly enhance nutrient absorption, improve feed efficiency, and increase daily milk yields.
Dr. Devender Hooda, Director-Sales & Technical, Huvepharma SEA, delivered a presentation on “Powering Livestock Production Across the World.” He emphasized that Bangladesh could further strengthen its livestock sector by adopting advanced veterinary vaccines, improved hygiene protocols, and internationally recognized disease-prevention practices to reduce disease transmission in densely populated farming areas.
Earlier in the evening, Dr. Azimul Haque, CEO of Synergy Bioscience, welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of innovation and collaboration in advancing Bangladesh’s livestock industry.
Speakers at the event noted that the livestock sector played a vital role in ensuring food security, generating rural employment, and supporting economic development. They observed that rising consumer demand for quality dairy products, coupled with continued investment in modern farming systems, positioned Bangladesh to become a stronger player in the regional dairy market.
The program concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session and a networking dinner, providing participants with opportunities to exchange ideas and strengthen partnerships across the livestock value chain.
