Agrilife24.com:The 7th World "Macrobrachium rosenbergii" Conference, a premier global forum dedicated to the innovation and sustainable development of freshwater giant prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) farming, officially commenced on June 8 in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province. The four-day event will continue through June 11, bringing together leading experts, scholars, and industry stakeholders from across the globe.
Under the theme “Innovation and Sustainable Development Exploration of Macrobrachium rosenbergii Farming,” the conference aims to address critical challenges and explore groundbreaking advancements across the full industry chain from genetic breeding and germplasm resources to ecological farming practices and cross-border technological integration.
The conference is hosted by Shanghai Ocean University and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), with co-organization by the Zhejiang Freshwater Fisheries Research Institute, Huzhou Normal University, and the Zhejiang Agricultural Foreign Cooperation Center.

Since then, it has been successfully held in India (2003, 2011), Bangkok (2017, 2023), and Shanghai (2019). The conference has since evolved into the most influential and authoritative event in the global freshwater shrimp aquaculture industry.
