Agrilife24.com:The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) signed five projects with the Government of Bangladesh today, 8th March 2026 at the Economic Relations Division (ERD), Ministry of Finance. Four of these projects, respectively, “Adoption of stress-tolerant varieties, disease management and improved mechanization in rice”; “Enhancing Food Systems in Bangladesh with emphasis on the availability of safe foods”; “Integrated Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management for Sustainable Livelihoods and Fisheries in the Haors of Moulvibazar” and “Strengthening Export Competitiveness of Jara Lemon (Citrus medica)” are funded under FAO’s Technical Cooperation Programme (TCP) allocation, and the remainder, “Productivity enhancement of priority crops through piloting and upscaling of tailored, innovative, climate resilient, and sustainable agricultural practices in South Asian countries” project is financed by FAO’s Flexible Voluntary Contribution (FVC) pooled funded instrument.

এগ্রিলাইফ২৪ ডটকম: মৎস্য ও প্রাণিসম্পদ প্রতিমন্ত্রী সুলতান সালাউদ্দিন টুকু বলেছেন, নারীর অধিকার কেবল স্বীকৃতির মধ্যে সীমাবদ্ধ থাকলে চলবে না, বরং তা বাস্তবায়নেও গুরুত্ব দিতে হবে। তিনি বলেন, শহীদ রাষ্ট্রপতি জিয়াউর রহমানের পর দেশনেত্রী বেগম খালেদা জিয়াও নারীর ক্ষমতায়নে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রেখেছেন। বিশেষ করে শিক্ষাক্ষেত্রে যুগান্তকারী পরিবর্তন না এলে নারীদের এই অগ্রগতি সম্ভব হতো না।

এগ্রিলাইফ২৪ ডটকম: খাদ্য, মৎস্য ও প্রাণিসম্পদ এবং কৃষিমন্ত্রী মোহাম্মদ আমিন উর রশীদ বলেছেন, মধ্যপ্রাচ্যের চলমান যুদ্ধ পরিস্থিতির প্রভাবে আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারে তেলের সরবরাহে কিছুটা চাপ সৃষ্টি হলেও বাংলাদেশে বর্তমানে তেলের কোনো সংকট নেই। তিনি বলেন, দেশের চাহিদা মেটাতে অন্তত এক মাসের জন্য পর্যাপ্ত তেলের মজুদ রয়েছে। পাশাপাশি পরবর্তী চালানবাহী জাহাজও ইতোমধ্যে বাংলাদেশের উদ্দেশ্যে রওনা দিয়েছে। ফলে তেলের সরবরাহ নিয়ে উদ্বিগ্ন হওয়ার কোনো কারণ নেই।

Agrilife24.com"Food packets will be distributed among 60,000 poor families in Bangladesh through the initiative of the private development organization ISDE Bangladesh, with the assistance of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center of Saudi Arabia. Among these, 42,000 packets will be distributed to the Rohingya community and 18,000 to the host community in Cox's Bazar. Under ISDE's project 'Emergency Food Assistance for Rohingya and Host Community in Bangladesh,' each family will receive 10 kg of rice, 7 kg of lentils, 3 liters of soybean oil, 1 kg of sugar, and 1 kg of salt as part of this assistance. On Monday, March 2, 2026, in Dhaka, the food distribution program was inaugurated at an informal ceremony at the Saudi Embassy by His Excellency Mr. Ibrahim Alhamari, Deputy Ambassador of the Saudi Embassy, Mr. Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, representative of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, Vice President of the CAB Central Committee and Executive Director of ISDE Bangladesh S M Nazer Hossain along with senior officials was present the inaguartion. Mr. Yasir Sheshah, the Director of Political and Media Affairs at the Saudi Embassy, hosts the program.
