Capital correspondent: People's interest in pets is increasing day by day. So, you have to take care of them, give them food according to their routine, provide medical care, etc. For that purpose, good nutritional products are needed as well as the technical skills is very important for the pet consultant as well as pet lovers.
Speakers made these remarks in a Technical Seminar on “Pet Vaccines, Soft Tissue Surgery, Feline panleukopenia Guideline” was held in Dhaka on Friday (6 December). The event was organized by Bangladesh Small Animal Veterinary Association (BASAVA) and sponsored by ACI Animal Health.
Prof. Dr. KHM Nazmul Hossain Nazir, General, Secretary, BASAVA was in the chaired while Dr. Safiul Ahad Sarder Swapan, President, BVA, Dr. Gopal Chandra Biswas, Register (BVC) & Dr. Bayzer Rahman, Director (Admn), DLS Were attended the event and gave their speeches.
The following topics were discussed in detail in the workshop.
- "Soft tissue Surgery" by Prof. Dr. Bibek Chandra Sutradhar, Executive, Member, BASAVA.
- "Feline Panleukopenia (FPL) Guideline" by Dr. Md. Mannan, Executive Member, BASAVA & Dr. Md. Asaduzzaman, Executive Member, BASAVA
- "Innovative Pet products and services of ACI Animal Health" were discussed by Dr. Md. Amjad Hossain, Head of Business, ACI, Animal Health, Dr. Md. Faisal Ferdous, National Sales Manager, Ms. Memory Jahan Shimu, Product Manager, Pet & Bird, ACI Animal Health.
- "Pet Vaccines and vaccinology" by Dr. Robert Kuhn, Regional Director, Bioveta
- "Experience sharing on pet clinics in Canada" Dr. Md. A. Saleque, Chief Technical Advisor, ACI Animal Health.
Dr. Md. Sagir Ahmed, Vice President, BASAV was made the closing remarks.
The participants believe that such workshops will play an important role to build a sustainable pet industry in Bangladesh. The Stakeholders expressed the opinion that organizing such events regularly will help the country's pet industry to move forward.
