WPSA-BB Holds Installation Ceremony for Newly Elected Executive Committee 2025-2026

Staff Reporter: The World’s Poultry Science Association–Bangladesh Branch (WPSA-BB) organized its “Installation Ceremony” on Tuesday, 2nd September 2025, at Dhaka Regency Hotel & Resort. The event was held to officially welcome the newly elected WPSA-BB Executive Committee for the tenure 2025-2026.

The program began with a recitation from the Holy Books, followed by the welcome address delivered by Mr. Moshiur Rahman, President, WPSA-BB (2023-2024). Dr. Biplab Kumar Pramanick, General Secretary, WPSA-BB (2023-2024), highlighted the activities of the previous tenure. The introduction of the newly elected members was also conducted by Mr. Moshiur Rahman.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. Md. Abu Sufiun, Director General of the Department of Livestock Services (DLS), as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Shakila Faruque, Director General of the Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI), attended as the Special Guest. Senior officials from DLS, policymakers of the poultry sector, researchers, entrepreneurs, and a large number of general members of WPSA-BB also participated in the program, making the occasion lively and engaging.

Later, the newly elected President, Mr. Shamsul Arefin Khaled, delivered his address to the gathering, outlining his vision for the upcoming term.

WPSA-BB has been playing a significant role in the development of Bangladesh’s poultry industry by promoting scientific knowledge, encouraging innovation, and building collaboration among researchers, academicians, and industry stakeholders. The organization contributes to strengthening food security, enhancing production efficiency, and ensuring sustainable growth of the poultry sector, which remains one of the fastest-growing agribusinesses in the country.

The ceremony concluded with a note of optimism, marking the beginning of a new chapter for WPSA-BB as it continues its journey in advancing the poultry science community in Bangladesh.
