
Staff Correspondent:The “Recent Development of Novogen for Layer Industry” event was held on 22 November 2025 (Saturday) at Hotel Sheraton, Banani, Dhaka. The event bringing together leading poultry experts, entrepreneurs, and industry stakeholders. The program was jointly organized by Novogen and Paragon Group, creating a significant platform for discussing the future of Bangladesh’s layer sector.
The event began with an opening address from Md. Rafiqul Haque, CEO of Poultry Consultant & Development Service. The program featured high-level technical presentations from top global Novogen officials, including Mr. Mickael Le Helloco, Managing Director; Mr. Stephane Lemoine, Deputy Director; Abdullah Al Mamun, Asian Region Technical Manager; and Dr. Chai Yew Fai, Vet Service, Asia. Each speaker highlighted various aspects of Novogen’s innovations and their relevance to the growing needs of the poultry industry.
A Paragon Group Corporate Video was also showcased during the event. Following the screening, Mrs. Yasmin Rahman, Director of Paragon Group, and Mr. Moshiur Rahman, Managing Director of Paragon Group, delivered speeches underscoring Novogen’s increasing contributions to Bangladesh’s egg production industry. They emphasized the importance of advanced genetics in enhancing national productivity and meeting future market demands.
Novogen highlighted its unique and innovative genetic selection programme, developed over the past 15 years to align with global market trends and farmers’ practical needs. The company emphasized improvements in production efficiency, feed conversion, robustness, and behavioural traits, ensuring excellent performance in both conventional and alternative farming systems. With animal welfare becoming increasingly important, Novogen’s selection framework—which incorporates sociability, nesting behaviour, and adaptability offers strong advantages, especially for farmers operating in hot climates and challenging environments such as Bangladesh.

Advanced technologies such as RFID-based behaviour monitoring, group and floor-based selection, and genomic selection techniques have accelerated genetic progress, resulting in more accurate selection and more robust, manageable, and efficient layer hens. These innovations are designed to help Bangladeshi egg producers achieve better productivity, reduce feed costs, and enhance bird welfare across diverse farming systems.
Speakers expressed confidence that Novogen’s strengthened partnership with industry leaders like Paragon Group will support further progress in Bangladesh’s layer sector. Poultry entrepreneurs can expect improved performance, easier management, and genetics that are well-suited to the country’s environmental conditions and market needs. The event concluded with a cultural show, marking the end of an informative and successful gathering for Bangladesh’s layer farming community.
