Special Correspondent: Bangladesh has achieved remarkable success in the livestock sector. Livestock Researchers & scientist behind these achievements have made great contributions. Now we all need to work together to take these technologies to the farmers.
The speakers stated these at the opening day (22 October) of 5th WVPA Asia Meeting 2022. The event was organized by World Veterinary Poultry Association-Bangladesh Branch held at Radisson Blu Dhaka, Bangladesh. Tomorrow (23 October) will be the closing day of the event.
Dr. Bishwajit Roy, Secretary, WVPA-BB conducted the seminal while Welcome speech made by Prof. Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, President, WVPA-BB & Dr. Nicolas Eterradossi, President, WVPA (Global).
Dr. Monjur Mohammad Shahjada, Director General, Department of Livestock Services was present as the Chief Guest. Vice President of Breeders Association of Bangladesh and Managing Director of Aftab Bahumukhi Farms ltd. Mr. Abu Lutfe Fazle Rahim Khan Shahriar was present as special guest.
Dr. Monjur Mohammad Shahjada highlighted that there are many challenges in the livestock sector in home & abroad. Local and International livestock scientists can play a vital role to overcome these challenges. DLS is playing a major role in producing safe milk, eggs and meat for the people of the country. The Department of Livestock is committed to producing safe animal protein.
There are so many technical sessions were presented on the inaugural day. Prof. Dr. Hermann Müller, Prof Dr. Emdadul Haque Chowdhury, Professor Dr. Moqbul Hossain, Nicolas Eterradossi, Christophe Cazaban, Anneke Feber wee, Robert Jan Molenaar, Prof. Dr. Fiona Tomley, Mohd Hair bin Bejo were also present & discussed in the session.
About 325 guests & livestock scientists from home and abroad were attended the two-days meeting.
