Agrilife24.com:Mini Shail is a new HYV variety of ACI Seed dedicated to Amon Season. The mentioned variety has been developed by ACI in association with International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and Rajshahi University. It is one of the pioneer varieties released by the private sector in Bangladesh. BLB-resistant long fine grain Mini Shail will bring sustainable changes in rice farmers’ profitability. It is a 130-days variety with a yield potentiality of 6-7 MT/ha.
ACI Seed conducted massive promotional activities to promote the newly developed HYV Rice variety Mini Shail across the country. The Team of Chuadanga Area conducted a field day program on Mini Shail at Daulatpur, Kushtia and Shailkupa, Jhenaidah in November 2022. Mr. Anower Hossain, Area Sales Manager; Mr. Rayhan Hossain and Mr. Mehedi Hasan, Marketing Officer of ACI Seed graced the event with their presence. About 85-90 farmers and retailers participated in each program. The Officials of ACI Seed discussed the characteristics and performance of the variety.
Mr. Nazrul Islam, Mr. Moklesur Rahman, Daulatpur, Kushtia & Mr. Shariful Islam, Shailkupa, and Jhenaidah cultivated Mini Shail this year. They found 21-22 Mond per Bigha (33 Decimal) in their plot. The participating farmers and retailers were very excited to see the performance of the variety. Besides, they committed to cultivate the Mini Shail in the next season.
