Staff Correspondent: It is possible to sustain the country's feed industry through a sustainable feed formulation. Shrimp and fish are one of the best sources of protein. High cost and shortage of each & every raw material for feed in the global context is now a big challenge. To that end, aqua nutritionists should focus on alternative ways of fish feed formulation while keeping the feed quality intact.
Adisseo's Aqua experts highlighted these issues in their speech In a workshop titled "Digestive and metabolic enhancement:unlock the full potential of your Fish feed!" The workshop was jointly organized by the world renowned animal nutrition company Adisseo aquaculture business unit and their sole distributor in Bangladesh Catapul Bioscience Ltd. at La Meridien Hotel in the capital Dhaka recently.
Adisseo India's Regional Manager Aquaculture ISC Dhanunjaya Goud delivered the welcome speech at the workshop. Dr. Peter Coutteau the Business Unit Director Aquaculture, Adisseo Spain presented the topics on "Global outlook on aqua feed markets and alternative ingredients for future" through video conference.
Dehasque Marleen, Global Product Manager, Nutrition Aquaculture, Adisseo Belgium highlighted on "Adisseo: Global Leader in lyso-phospholipid based solutions for Aquaculture" and finally Martin Guerin, Regional Technical Manager Aquaculture APAC/ISC, Adisseo Philippines presented an article on the topic "Feed cost saving models in Shrimp/Fish Feeds" as the last speaker in the workshop.
Indeed, key ingredients such as soybean meal, soya lecithin, fish oil, fish meal, and cereals, have seen their prices increase drastically after the post-covid-19 pandemic and in the wake of the Ukraine situation, while most fish prices have not reflected these increases the speakers addressed.
They said This has put tremendous pressure not only on farmers but also on feed manufacturers who must look for alternatives to optimize feed costs, combining innovative solutions and the best available ingredients, in order to minimize feed prices and maintain performance.
Entrepreneurs involved in the fish industry feel that the prices of raw materials for feed production have risen sharply in the world today. There is no possibility of sudden reduction in the price of these raw materials. In this case, such seminar is considered very important for all concerned.
