“DSM Mycotoxin Academy 2022” was held in Dhaka

Staff reporter: “DSM Mycotoxin Academy 2022” has brought the leading opportunity for industry practitioners to share ideas and exchange knowledge. The idea of sharing our knowledge, discussing current and future challenges in the food and feed industry and prescribing solutions will make the MYCOTOXIN ACADEMY a key event in the industry.

With these mission and objectives, “DSM Mycotoxin Academy 2022” was held today (December 8) at La Méridien in the capital city Dhaka. The event was jointly organized by the world-renowned science-based & sustainability-driven animal nutrition company DSM Animal Nutrition & Health & Renata Animal Health.



Md. Sirajul Hoque, Director, Renata Ltd. (Animal Health Division) was addressed in his welcome speech that considering the needs of food & feed industrialists and farmers as well as consumers in our country, Renata always ensures the best services in this sector.



Three technical sessions on mycotoxins were held in the event where Dr. Tan Seong Lim (Performance solution Manager, DSM) highlighted on the topic “The basics of Mycotoxicosis from the formation of toxins, analysis & some economic impacts.” Professor Dr. Emdadul Haque chowdhury Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) discussed on “Mycotoxin Prevalence in Bangladesh and its impact on health and productivity of animal and poultry species with special reference to immunotoxicity" & finally  “Mycotoxin risk management including prevalence and ways to manage the risk" discussed by Dr. Lorran Baeumle Gabardo,Global Product Manager (Animal Nutrition & Health).



Mr Moshiur Rahman Managing Director and chairman of paragon group was  present in the event & addressed as an entrepreneur of the poultry industry.

Speakers were highlighted that mycotoxins are well known to impair animal health and cause economic losses in livestock production. In the field, diagnosis of mycotoxin-induced disorders in animals is often challenging, as relevant feed lots are no longer available or feed analysis results are not conclusive.



Nutritionists were present at the event believe that it will bring positive results in the food & feed industry. About 90-guests including poultry-feed sector nutritionists, scientists, senior officials of various industrial organizations from all over the country were present in this event.
