Kemin AquaScience™ launched "AQUATRIA" in Dhaka

Staff correspondent: Fish is one of the protein sources that is making a significant contribution in solving the global food crisis. The feed producers, shrimp, and fish farmers looking for sustainable solutions to run profitable businesses.

To serve this aquaculture industry’s needs, Kemin AquaScience™ hosted a grand launch event of "AQUATRIA" on Saturday 11th February 2023, at Le Méridien, with the title “LIPID AND DIETARY ENERGY OPTIMIZATION FOR IMPROVING FEED COST AND ENHANCING FISH PERFORMANCE”.

Mr. Krishnan P, Regional Director-South Asia, welcomed the guests on behalf of Kemin AquaScience™. Followed by the welcome, the insightful session started with the presentation of an aquaculture expert and the guest speaker Dr. Orapint Jintasataporn, Associate Professor, Department of Aquaculture, Faculty of Fisheries, Kasetsart University. Bangkok, Thailand. She shared her vast experience and knowledge on "Energy & Lipid Metabolism in Aquatic Animal".

"Developing of Aquatria™-Let Use More Fat & Get More Firm" was Presented by Mr. Grin Swangdacharuk Product Manager, Kemin AquaScience™.  During his presentation he was briefed the challenges in fat digestion, role of "AQUATRIA™" in fat digestion and absorption process. He also discussed some trial data about the performance of the newly launched product "AQUATRIA™" the powerful nutrient utilization enhancer for aquafeed.

The speakers were highlighted that growth performance of aquatic animals are largely influenced by nutrition. Adequate nutrition is essential for the maintenance of animal performance and health, and ensuring adequate balanced diets for fish to meet all nutritional needs at specific physiological stages of development may be crucial to reduce growth inhibition and infection.

They were also addressed, Lipids are the primary source of energy and essential fatty acids for the growth of fish. Fish oil is a major lipid dietary ingredient in formulated feeds for fish feed. During formulation of aquafeed, oil is using to fulfill energy requirement. Many times oil has been added over than animal can use. This causes an excess fat in formulation. It is necessary to supplement the certain amount of lipid in the feed to avoid excessive lipid intake caused fat deposition & increases the feed cost.

Speakers were recommended, excessive lipid deposition in the visceral organ and muscle may be harmful to health and meat quality of fish, and farm productivity. Therefore, optimization of dietary lipid level is essential to promote the growth and health and maintain market value of Fish products.

During the question-answer session, the guest speakers and expert panelists from Kemin AquaScience™ discussed the various challenges facing in fish feed production. They also addressed how it will be solved. Speakers shared their views and answered the questions posted on them by the attendees. The entire program was conducted by Dr. Rajesh Sikder, Sales Manager, Kemin AquaScience™.
