Inauguration of the International Guest House Conference Hall at BAU

Mohammad Riaz, BAU:The “International Guest House Conference Hall,” constructed on the bank of the Brahmaputra River at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), has been inaugurated. The hall was officially opened on Monday (18 May) at noon by BAU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A.K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan, who attended the event as the chief guest.

The programme was chaired by Professor Dr. Md. Hammadur Rahman, Director of the BAU Research System (BAURES), and conducted by Associate Director Professor Dr. Muhammad Javidul Haque Bhuiyan.
In his welcome speech, Pubali Bank PLC Mymensingh Regional Head Md. Humayun Mia handed over two 100-inch smart TVs to the university administration for the conference hall. City Bank and Southeast Bank PLC also provided financial assistance for the construction of the hall.

Speakers at the event included Professor Dr. G.M. Mujibur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Syndicate Member; Professor Dr. Md. Ruhul Amin, Convener of the Dean Council and Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry; Professor Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam Sardar, President of the Teachers’ Association; Professor Dr. Md. Asaduzzaman Sarkar, General Secretary of the Teachers’ Association; and Professor Dr. Md. Ali Reza Faruk, President of the Sonali Dal and Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries.

Also present were deans of various faculties, heads of departments, institute directors, the student advisor, the proctor, assistant proctors, teachers, officers and staff of the university.

In his speech as chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A.K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan said, “I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the construction of the International Guest House Conference Hall at BAU. I am especially grateful to the BAURES team for establishing this modern and internationally standard facility for the university.”

He added, “We are also working to upgrade the Agronomist Guest House to international standards. The university will continue to invest in any initiative that contributes to strengthening the environment for education and research.”
