Agrilife24.com: The World Veterinary Poultry Association Bangladesh Branch (WVPA-BB) successfully organized the Final Round of its prestigious Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Presentation Competition on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Dhaka Regency Hotel & Resort, Airport Road, Nikunja 2, Dhaka. The event, which ran from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, brought together leading figures in the poultry and veterinary sectors to celebrate and encourage the next generation of researchers.
The program commenced with an inaugural session following registration, featuring a series of welcome and opening addresses. Dr. Md. Nurul Islam Shawon, General Secretary of WVPA-BB, welcomed guests and participants, followed by remarks from Prof. K. M. Mozaffor Hossain, Convenor of the National Veterinary Dean Council (NVDC). Prof. Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Global Secretary of WVPA, addressed the audience on behalf of the international body, while Prof. Dr. Emdadul Haque Chowdhury, President of WVPA-BB, presided over the session as Chair.
The highlight of the day was the 3MT Presentation Competition, where top student poultry researchers from across the country each delivered concise, impactful presentations within three minutes, using only a single slide. This engaging format allowed young minds to showcase their research findings and innovations in a clear and accessible manner.
The closing session featured distinguished guests including Mr. Mahabubur Rahaman, President of the Breeders Association of Bangladesh, and Mr. Moshiur Rahman, President of the World’s Poultry Science Association Bangladesh Branch (WPSA-BB), who offered encouraging words to the participants. The Chief Guest, Dr. Md. Abu Sufiun, Director General of the Department of Livestock Services (DLS), praised the initiative for fostering academic excellence and innovation in the poultry sector.
The event concluded with a prize-giving ceremony. Selected fifteen candidates were from BAU (8); HSTU & GAU (2); and PSTU, SAU, SAU, CVASU (1). Awardees are Nazmun Nahar (Champion), Mashsharat Maliha (1st Runner up) (2nd Runner up) from Bangladesh Agriculture University & Muhtadi Md. Waliullah from Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University and closing remarks from Dr. Humayun Arefin Vice President of WVPA-BB. A networking lunch followed, providing an opportunity for professionals, academics, and students to connect and discuss future collaborations.
The WVPA-BB’s 3MT Competition continues to serve as a dynamic platform for nurturing young talent and advancing the poultry industry's research landscape in Bangladesh.
