Business reporter: As Bangladesh’s poultry and dairy industries continue to expand rapidly—particularly large-scale breeder farms, layer operations, and commercial dairy units—organic waste management has emerged as one of the most critical challenges. Manure, litter, feed residues, and other organic by-products, if not managed properly, can lead to environmental pollution, odor problems, and biosecurity risks. To ensure long-term sustainability and productivity of these industries, modern, efficient, and environmentally friendly technologies are now essential.

রাজধানী প্রতিনিধি: বাংলাদেশের পোল্ট্রি শিক্ষা ও গবেষণাকে আরও গতিশীল করতে ওয়ার্ল্ডস পোল্ট্রি সায়েন্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশন–বাংলাদেশ ব্রাঞ্চ (WPSA-BB) এর উদ্যোগে WPSA-BB Research Grant Award–2025 সফলভাবে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। এ উপলক্ষে দেশের বিভিন্ন কৃষি ও ভেটেরিনারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে অধ্যয়নরত পোল্ট্রি শিক্ষায় শিক্ষিত ১১ জন মেধাবী স্নাতকোত্তর শিক্ষার্থীকে প্রত্যেককে এক লক্ষ টাকা করে WPSA-BB Master’s Research Grants 2025 প্রদান করা হয়, যা পোল্ট্রি ও প্রাণিসম্পদ খাতে গবেষণায় একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মাইলফলক হিসেবে কাজ করবে।

The keynote speaker was the world-renowned canola breeder, Dr. Mukhlesur Rahman, Professor of Oilseed Breeding in the Department of Plant Sciences at North Dakota State University (NDSU), USA.

Staff Correspondent:The biennial election (2025–2027) of the Bangladesh Poultry Industries Association (BPIA) was held successfully and peacefully on Monday, 22 December, at the AGB Colony Community Center in Motijheel, Dhaka, with active participation from poultry farmers, dealers, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals from across the country. The “Poultry Peshajibi Parishad” panel achieved a landslide victory in the election. Md. Mosharaf Hossain Chowdhury, Chairman of Astha Feed Industries Ltd., was elected President with 535 votes, while Md. Safir Rahman, Director of Quality Breeders Ltd., secured the position of Secretary General with the same number of votes (535).
