Sustainable poultry, is the answer to supply safe & affordable animal protein for the 8th largest population of the world, Bangladesh with a current population growth rate of 1.01% per annum. To feed this growing population with an ever-shrinking farmland the sector needs efficient acreage in production. Healthy animal can produce efficiently if good & strong biosecurity is provided. As well as in favor of farm sanitation it is essential to keep the farm free from poultry waste & hazard for all the time. Farmers need to learn to recycle the waste to reduce carbon foot print in their production chain. In this regard livestock field workers support can be provided to the farmers.
Mr. Moshiur Rahman, President WPSA-BB was explaining these during an interview on the eve of the occasion and extend his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all participants, exhibitors, stakeholders and distinguish guests. He sincerely believes that the 13th International Poultry Show & Seminar 2025 will not only inspire new ideas and innovations but also strengthen the bonds between local and international stakeholders.
He continues, commercial poultry sector of Bangladesh is currently producing 4.5 crores of table eggs per day and 164 crores per year. Only good farming with uncompromised biosecurity practice can produce 2% to 3% more eggs in the farm. That means we can produce yearly around 35-36 crores more eggs with our present farm capacity. It is same for the poultry meat too and simultaneously the cost of production of egg & broiler meat will reduce significantly to make the farms more sustainable. Business friendly policy initiative will encourage new investments resulting to food safety and will ensure affordable protein for all.
On behalf of WPSA-BB, he also extends his deep appreciation to the organizing committee including technical committee, sponsors and participants who have worked tirelessly over a year to make this event a grand success.
