
Agrilife24.com:Renowned Agricultural Scientist Dr. Muhammad Ataur Rahman has been appointed as the newly appointed Director General of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI). According to the order issued by the Ministry of Agriculture he has been appointed as the Director General (Routine Charge) of BARI. He served as the Director (Research) of BARI, Gazipur before joining in this post.
He joined at the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute Gazipur as a Scientific Officer in 1992. He was subsequently promoted to the rank of Senior Scientific Officer, Principal Scientific Officer, Chief Scientific Officer and Director (Training and Communication).
Dr. Muhammad Ataur Rahman holds PhD degree in 2005 from Kyushu University, Japan, on the topic of Physiological basic of heat tolerance in wheat. He has traveled to Nepal, India, Bhutan, Japan, Thailand, Australia and Malaysia to attend various international trainings, seminars, symposiums and workshops. He also regularly publishes scientific articles in various local and foreign scientific journals. Dr. Muhammad Ataur Rahman was born in 1967 in a noble Muslim family in Dinajpur district. In his personal life, he is the father of 2 children.
