"Empowered Together: Students Leading the Humane Qurbani Movement"

Agrilife24.com: An in-person joint meeting was held on 19 June 2025 Thursday at the CVASU Conference Room to discuss on HUMANE QURBANI Photo Contest 2025. The session was organized in collaboration between IVSA Bangladesh and PranisebaTrust.

The meeting started with opening remarks from Prantor Barua, Exchange Officer, IVSA Bangladesh and Arpita Chowdhury, Volunteer Intern, PranisebaTrust, who introduced the agenda and facilitated a round of self-introductions among the participants.

Dr. Mujib Rahman, National Rabies Consultant, was then welcomed to provide an overview of the HUMANE QURBANI initiative. He shared his vision, objectives, and expectations for promoting humane animal handling practices during Qurbani.

Key topics of discussion included improving communication strategies, raising awareness about animal welfare, assessing its current status, and identifying effective ways to contribute to the field. Emphasis was also placed on building confidence, encouraging active involvement in similar initiatives, and fostering leadership skills.

Several challenges were identified during an open discussion session, which will be further explored in future meetings. The meeting concluded on an encouraging note, with participants from various undergraduate levels expressing enthusiasm and a strong commitment to the success of this collaborative effort.

Selected undergraduate students from CVASU participated in this meeting. With such One Health approached initiative, they agreed to work together for establishing the sustainable animal welfare in Bangladesh.
