Robi builds play zone for children with thalassemia

Agrilife24.con:Robi Axiata PLC has built a small play zone for child patients at the Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation Hospital under its Ramadan campaign titled “Chotto Ekta Kaje Hajaro Ichchhepuran” (Fulfilling thousands of wishes through a small act).

Children living with thalassemia require long-term treatment, which often makes hospitals a central part of their lives. Frequent medical care and hospital visits can limit many of the simple joys of childhood. Considering this reality, Robi has set up the play zone to create moments of happiness for the children.

Decorated with toys, colorful elements and various entertainment items, the play zone offers the children a space where they can spend time playing and enjoying themselves. On the day of the inauguration, several Robi employees visited the hospital, spent time with the children and distributed small gifts among them, making the day more joyful for the young patients.

Under the same campaign, Robi also supported a tea garden school in the Muraichara area of Moulvibazar. The school, Muraichara Tea Garden Shishu Shikkha Kendra, has been revived by local resident Sagar Tirki after remaining closed for a long time. To strengthen the initiative, Robi provided educational materials for students along with Robi WiFi, a smart TV and a water filter.

In another initiative, the company distributed clothes and gifts ahead of Eid among children at Nindpur Jameya Islamia Ibrahimia Qawmi Madrasa and Orphanage in Matlab upazila of Chandpur so they could share the joy of Eid with others. The core idea behind the “Chotto Ekta Kaje Hajaro Ichchhepuran” campaign is that a small initiative can inspire many others, and that meaningful social change can begin through simple acts.

Speaking about the campaign, Robi’s Chief Commercial Officer Shihab Ahmad said: “Like every year during Ramadan, we initially planned to produce an advertisement that would touch the hearts of millions. But later we thought, instead of an advertisement, could we do something meaningful for people and for society through small initiatives? We believe this shift in thinking can positively transform our surroundings and our country.”
