AgriLife24.Com Correspondent: Our poultry industry is evolving day by day. In this era of industrialization, large farms are being established, and big entrepreneurs are emerging. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult for small farmers to survive—this is the reality we face today! Among the significant challenges in the poultry industry, biosecurity stands out as a critical issue. Additionally, the concern of antibiotic resistance persists, along with the growing need for environmentally friendly poultry farming.
Extending his best wishes to the organizers of the upcoming Poultry Fair, Dr. Priya Mohan Das , a distinguished figure in the poultry sector and former professor of the Department of Pathology of Bangladesh Agricultural University, shared his insights.
It is evident that our poultry industry is gradually transforming into a large-scale industry. Dr. Priya Mohan Das noted that as big industrialists increase their investments, small farmers are finding it increasingly challenging to compete and survive.
With nearly three decades of close observation of the poultry industry, Dr. Das has not only been involved in teaching but has also empathized with the struggles of small and marginal farmers. Over 47 years of engagement in the livestock sector, he has strived to awaken the livestock industry with his experiential knowledge, benefiting both farmers and consumers.
Dr. P.M. Das hopes that the upcoming poultry fair will showcase more innovative technologies, enabling entrepreneurs to take a step forward in environmentally sustainable and resilient industrial production.
With the theme “Sustainable Poultry for Emerging Bangladesh”, the 13th International Poultry Show will be held from February 20 to 22. Prior to this, an International Technical Seminar will take place at the Radisson Blu in Dhaka on February 18–19.
