Agrilife24.com: ACI Animal Health successfully organized a technical seminar on “Rabies: Current Status and Its Control” at Six Seasons Hotel, Dhaka recently. The event brought together senior government officials, university experts, industry professionals, and pet practitioners to discuss the current rabies situation and strategies for its prevention.
The seminar commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Amjad, Head of Business at ACI Animal Health, who introduced the company’s comprehensive range of products and services. Ms. Memory Jahan Shimu and Dr. Farzana presented insights into ACI’s pet portfolio activities. Dr. Md. A. Saleque, Chief Technical Advisor, highlighted the increasing trend of pet rearing in Bangladesh and emphasized the need for improved pet healthcare and disease prevention.
Chaired by Prof. Dr. Nitish Chandra Debnath, Former Vice-Chancellor of CVASU, the technical session featured presentations by renowned experts. Mr. Marek Vystavel, Marketing and Sales Director of Bioveta, discussed Bioveta’s pet vaccine production and its commitment to quality. Mr. Robert Khun, Regional Director of Bioveta, delivered an informative presentation on rabies transmission, control measures, and the importance of vaccination.
A panel discussion followed, where Dr. Moynul Islam, Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, and Dr. Hiresh Ranjan Bowmik underscored rabies as a major public health threat. They emphasized the critical role of pet vaccination in disease prevention and its broader impact on human and animal health as a zoonotic disease.
In his closing remarks, Prof. Dr. Nitish Chandra Debnath stressed the importance of a One Health approach in tackling public health hazards and praised ACI Animal Health for taking a timely initiative to combat rabies.
