Scientific Innovations Drive Livestock Nutrition Forward at Nutritional Health Summit in Dhaka

Staff Corresponden: In a remarkable gathering of global experts and local stakeholders, the "Nutritional Health Summit Bangladesh" was held on Saturday (24 May) at Hotel Le Méridien, Dhaka. Kemin Industries South Asia Pvt. Ltd. was organized the summit showcasing cutting-edge insights and practical innovations in poultry and livestock nutrition.

As part of an ongoing commitment to advancing animal health and productivity, the summit brought together distinguished speakers and professionals for a day filled with knowledge exchange and scientific dialogue.

The summit commenced with a Welcome Address by Mr. Sushanta Dey, Marketing Manager, Kemin Industries South Asia Pvt. Ltd. who set the tone for the day’s deliberations.

This was followed by Dr. D. Chadrasekaran, Poultry Nutritionist, Professor & Head (Retd), TANUVAS, India, the focus shifted to poultry, with insights on “Enhancing Layer Performance–Through Feed and Nutrition.” Dr. Chandrasekaran highlighted balanced dietary formulations, amino acid optimization, and the importance of gut integrity in maintaining high productivity in laying hens.

In a session led by Dr. Paartha Pratim Das, Associate General Manager (Nutrition), Kemin Industries South Asia, then presented “Advancing Nutrient Release: Xylanase and Beyond” exploring how enzyme technologies, particularly xylanase, can enhance feed digestibility, improve nutrient absorption, and reduce feed costs.

Following a lunch break, Mr. Rahul Kapse, Marketing Manager, Kemin Industries South Asia, technical presentation on “Improving Efficiency of Molasses Utilisation in Cattle Feed” He discussed strategies to maximize molasses benefits, especially in energy balance and palatability, contributing to cost-effective cattle feeding.

Dr. Tiago Prucha, Global Poultry Specialist- Vetworks, Europe, delved deep into the interplay of gut microbiota, pathogens, and inflammation in his session titled “Gut Microbiota, Pathogens & Inflammation: Understanding Intricate Relationship.” His findings emphasized the need for early microbiome modulation to promote health and performance.

Dr. Satyam Sharma, Product Manager, Intestinal Health, Kemin Industries South Asia presented “Practical Innovations for Emerging Gut Health” highlighting the latest tools and techniques for maintaining intestinal health, including phytogenics, probiotics, and strategic feed additives.

A new product from Kemin Industries, KURACO™ HC, was officially introduced at a special event by Dr. R. Sureshkumar, President of Kemin Industries South Asia Pvt. Ltd. He unveiled and launched the product in the presence of Kemin's officials working in Bangladesh.

The entire event was hosted and moderated by Dr. Chandrasekhar, AGM-Marketing, Kemin Industries South Asia Pvt. Ltd.. He also conducted the interactive Q&A session. Each presentation was followed by lively Q&A sessions, allowing participants to interact directly with the experts.

The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Dr. Muhammad Gulam Murshed, who praised the speakers for their invaluable contributions and thanked the participants for their active engagement.
