3-day Professional Hatchery Management Training Held to Boost Poultry Sector Expertise

Staff Correspondent: PoultryTechBangladesh, a collaborative initiative between leading Dutch and Bangladeshi stakeholders, successfully inaugurated a comprehensive three-day training program on hatchery management aimed at strengthening the country’s poultry value chain. The program was held at Hotel Bengal Blueberry, Gulshan-2, Dhaka. Organized by Larrive International & Light Castle in collaboration with Royal Pas Reform & AXON Ltd. Supported by Dutch Embassy.

The hands-on training, which concluded on June 18, combined practical knowledge with interactive learning to enhance the skills of professional hatchery personnel.

The training was inaugurated by Mr. Osman Haruni, Senior Policy Advisor at Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands and Zahidul Islam, Managing Director of AXON Limited. Expert sessions were conducted by Gerd de Lange, Senior Poultry Specialist at Pas Reform Academy, and Lotte Hebbink, Incubation Specialist at Pas Reform Academy.

The sessions covered a wide range of topics including:

  • Embryonic development in the hen
  • Eggs from breeder farm to hatchery
  • Egg storage and SmartHeat 
  • Hatching egg sanitation
  • Embryonic development during incubation
  • Fundamentals of Incubation
  • Practical setter management
  • Practical transfer hatcher chick handling management.
  • Defining chick quality
  • Egg break-out: a useful tool
  • Data Management

The training, which encourages the exchange of knowledge and experiences among participants, will conclude on June 18 with a certificate distribution ceremony by Pas Reform Academs.
