KEMIN Hosts Bangladesh Poultry Health Seminar to Strengthen Biosecurity and Safe Food Production

Staff correspondent:A technical seminar titled “Bangladesh Poultry Health Seminar,” organized by the world-renowned animal health company KEMIN and Rafique Medicine (A sister concern of RRP Group), was held on Saturday, 6 December 2025, at the prestigious Le Meridien Dhaka Hotel. The event brought together global experts who discussed integrated risk management against prevailing poultry diseases that continue to affect animal welfare and the overall profitability of Bangladesh’s poultry operations.

The seminar began with the Welcome Speech and Team Introduction delivered by Mr. Azmal Hossain (Director, RRP Group), Dr. Virayos Vajirabhoga (Regional Sales Manager,Kemin Biologics), Mr. Ashish Shankarrao Deshpande (Associate General Manager-sales, Kemin) and Dr. Md Gulam Murshed (Associate General Manager). As part of KEMIN’s Biologics Educational Series, several technical presentations were delivered by international specialists.

Mr. Midhun Raj presented “Health Through Water: Immune Enhancement and Gut Health through Water Applications,” highlighting innovations in water-mediated immunity support. Dr. Jayaraman Krishnarajan discussed the “Prevailing Epidemiological Trends of Viral Diseases in Bangladesh,” emphasizing the need for stronger surveillance and preventive strategies. Dr. Abdullah Makahleh spoke on a “Comprehensive ND, IB & H9 Vaccination Strategy,” focusing on safeguarding respiratory integrity in commercial flocks.

Speakers highlighted that vaccines play a critical role in ensuring biosecurity in Bangladesh’s poultry and dairy sectors. KEMIN’s broad range of live and inactivated vaccines empowers veterinarians and food producers to manage the risks of endemic and emerging diseases, thereby protecting food security and sustaining producer profitability. These vaccines strengthen transboundary disease control, enhance respiratory health, improve immunocompetence, and contribute significantly to food safety ensuring that the value chain delivers wholesome milk, eggs, and meat to a growing population.

Experts emphasized that adopting science-based vaccination programs and stringent biosecurity practices will enable Bangladesh to produce safer milk, eggs, and meat, ultimately contributing to the development of a healthier and more prosperous nation.

The closing speech was delivered by Dr. Sohail Al Mahmud (Senior Sales Manager, Kemin Biologics). The entire programme was conducted by Dr. Sukanto Bhowmik (Marketing Manager of Rafique Medicine).
