Agrilife24.com: Dr. Md. Anwarul Haque, a distinguished Agricultural Scientist of the country, joined Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) on 09 January 2025 as its Director (Administration & Common Service). Prior to the new position Dr. Md. Anwarul Haque has been serving the institute as the chief scientific officer and Head of the Grain Quality and Nutrition Division. He began his career as a Scientific Officer of the Institute in 1994 and devotedly performing his duties at different positions over the last 30 years.
Dr. Md. Anwarul Haque was born in 1966 at Shahebnagar Village of Ishwarganj Upazila of the Mymensingh district. He obtained his B Sc Ag. Engg. (Hons) degree in 1988 and M. Sc degree in 190 from the Bangladesh Agricultural University. He completed his PhD degree on Food Microbiology in 2002 from the University of London, UK. At present, he is one of the senior scientists in National Agricultural Research System (NARS) in Bangladesh. He has published 32 research articles in different prestigious journals home and abroad. He has visited some countries including UK, Belgium in relation to his research works.
Personally he is blessed with two children.
